Regulatory Disclosures
IntroductionWEL Networks Limited ("WEL") is obliged by the Electricity (Information Disclosure) Regulations 1999 (the "Regulations") to publish certain information relating to its electricity lines business on the Internet.
The Regulations, which were introduced in April 1999, are an integral part of the Government's "light handed" approach to regulation of the electricity distribution industry.
In 1994, when regulations were first introduced, the Government's intention was to enable the public and other interested parties to compare the financial results, and performance, efficiency and reliability measures of electricity line companies on a "like for like" basis. The latest Regulations continue to demonstrate this intention; indeed they contain stricter measures than the original regulations that they replaced to ensure that more accurate comparisons can be made.
If you require any information about the Regulations, please feel free to contact us using connect@wel.co.nz
