Energy Efficiency

At WEL we support the concept of improving the energy efficiency of industrial, commercial, farming and residential consumers in the Waikato.  Energy efficiency measures can contribute to improvements in the health and welfare of households through improved standard of living and comfort levels. There are also significant environmental benefits through reduced emissions and less impact on natural resources.

There are many agencies that focus on the promotion of energy efficiency advice and tips, the following links are to a few of these that have specific relevance to New Zealand:

Update on New Technology Trials

30 July 2010

We have had an overwhelming response to our press release of 15 July requesting customers to participate in the trial of new electricity technologies.

We are currently undertaking a desktop analysis to determine the most suitable sites. Once completed, we will communicate with the selected applicants. We envisage this happening within the next two weeks.
