WHY DOES WEL NETWORKS PAY A DISCOUNT?

Our Shareholder, WEL Energy Trust, asked WEL Networks to look at ways of reducing line prices.  We looked at a number of options, and found that paying a discount was best.  A customer survey told us that there was a clear preference for the discount to be paid once a year.

HOW MUCH DISCOUNT WILL I RECEIVE?

Your discount will depend on how much electricity you have used.  The average discount being paid out is $247.00.  A total of $20.81 million will be paid out to WEL customers.

WHO GETS THE WEL NETWORKS DISCOUNT?

All customers connected to WEL Networks traditional network in the Waikato at 5.00pm on 31 March 2010 will receive the discount for each connection with one or more meters.  The discount is based on the line charges incurred at your address over the previous 12 months.

WHERE DO I FIND MY DISCOUNT?

Your WEL Networks Discount can be found on the back page of your electricity account.  It will appear as a credit transaction on your electricity account.
