WEL has staff
from 26 countries.
One challenge that
comes with such a
diverse workforce
is ensuring effective
communication when
English is not your
first language.
When a number of staff asked
for assistance in developing
their communication skills
it quickly became evident
that there was an opportunity
to provide English language
support.
We engaged English Language
Partners, an organisation
that works with refugees
and migrants from over 150
countries, for assistance.
The result was a combination
of course work, group sessions
and one-on-one coaching that
was delivered throughout 2014.
The feedback received from
participants was that the course
was extremely valuable.
