New Subdivision or Development
Want to develop a multi-lot, multi-stage subdivision or divide your section in two?
Before starting your application please read WEL’s Network Connection Standard and make sure you have the following details handy:

Your site/location details and a site plan in DWG format.

Your surveyor's contact details.

Details of your subdivision including number of lots.

Your electrical capacity requirements for example, phases per lot, amps per phase.

If your quote needs to include costs for street light reticulation, please provide a street light reticulation plan during the application process.
FAQs

It depends on the complexity of the project but usually for a standard subdivision application, allow 5 working days to receive your quote in line with WEL's Capital Contributions Policy.
For non-standard subdivision connections allow 12-16 weeks to receive your fixed price quote. This allows time to:
- Undertake an electrical engineering capacity assessment of our network.
- Produce a network design.
- Undertake commercial pricing analysis.
Once we've received your signed quote acceptance and deposit, allow a further 10-12 weeks until construction commences.
These timeframes are indicative and may be impacted by resource availability, material items with long lead times, completeness of the information you provide and whether an easement is required.

Usually we don’t charge an application fee for standard connection applications, but we may ask you to pay a non-refundable application deposit for non-standard connections.
