APPROVED VEGETATION CONTRACTORS

Working near power lines can be hazardous. To help keep you, your property, and our community safe, any tree cutting, trimming, or removals near our network assets needs to carried out by a WEL approved vegetation contractor

WEL approved vegetation contractors have the specialist training, experience, and equipment required to work safely around electricity assets, and they comply with the requirements of the Electricity (Hazards from Trees) Regulations 2003.

Why use a WEL approved vegetation contractor?

• They are trained to work safely around power lines and our network assets.
• They understand the required clearance distances, and tree regulation requirements.
• They are equipped to carry out the work safely and efficiently.
• They help reduce the risk of electrical accidents, property damage, and power outages.

Tree work near power lines can be dangerous. If a tree is within 4 metres of a power line, or could fall onto a power line, do not attempt the work yourself and use one of our approved vegetation contractors.
