What is a BESS?
A BESS is a Battery Energy Storage System.
It’s an electrochemical energy storage device, much like the battery found in your phone, just on a much larger scale.
The BESS is a useful modern technology for its abilities to form grids, store energy from solar systems so it can be used at times when the sun isn’t shining, and performing a number of load manipulation functions such as peak lopping.
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS's) are becoming a fundamental part of the electricity network and energy infrastructure globally.
BESS systems allow for increased penetration of intermittent renewable generation, which complements the global transition to zero carbon generation.
